Wind swept

While we were in Hawaii we both got into the groove of having a late day reading session. I used the time to study tarot, the meaning of each of the cards, and even the different spreads for doing readings. Plus, I also pulled a rune for the days message.

This one day I went outside with my laptop, phone, tarot deck and bag of runes and settled in. I decided to heighten the mood by listening to an astrologer while I was doing this. Pam Gregory was talking about the new moon in Pisces and I shuffled the deck of cards.

As I was shuffling I had the strong feeling that I should maybe pull a rune instead of going right for the tarot deck, but then decided no, because I didn’t even have a question to ask the runes just yet. So I decided to wait until after the tarot pull. If you’re not familiar, runes are a form of divination. We can use the runes as tools to contemplate and communicate fundamental spiritual experiences. With the runes, we seek to gain insight and bring wisdom into our lives as we want more power to shape our destiny.

So, I cut the deck of tarot cards in half and pulled the card that was left on the top. It was the hi priestess card. While getting this card is a delight in itself, I was even more thrilled because in the deck that I use, the hi priestess is surrounded by all the runes that seem to float in the air above her head almost in a halo... Imagine that! It was like a response from the universe.

No decisions necessary, here you get both the tarot and the runes. A wonderful compromise with twice the divination!
